Visit Winchester Mystery House
Constructed over the course of 36 years, the Winchester mystery house is a must see for anyone visiting the area.
A mere 30 minute drive from Gilroy to San Jose will bring you to one of the top rated destinations in the world.
This unusual mansion constructed by Sarah Winchester, widow and heiress to the Winchester Repeating Arms fortune, is as mysterious as it is incredible.
The 24,000 square foot masterpiece only halted in construction when the widow Winchester died, and rumors of paranormal activity have been reported since the tours first began in the early 1920’s.
The Winchester mystery house is a must see for both history buffs and those who enjoy a good ghost story.
Take A Ride At Swank Farms
If you’re looking for a good dose of harvest time fun, look no further than Swank Farms.
This beautiful family ranch boasts corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and fields of giant sunflowers that are all perfect for autumn photo ops.
Little ones will have hours of fun exploring the petting zoo, riding the peddle carts, and playing on the hay jump.
And if you’re looking for a good, old fashioned haunted hayride, look no further. The trail of lights and freights is spooky, mesmerizing fun for all ages.
Visit the Wings of History Air Museum
Aviation enthusiasts will love to check out the wide variety of planes at the Wings of History Air Museum in nearby San Martin.
Check out vintage models up close, or experience the museum’s flight simulator.
See The Circus Trees At Gilroy Gardens
The remaining living circus trees in Gilroy gardens began as a passion project by Axel Erlandson in the mid 1900’s.
This botanical project involved the bending, weaving, and grafting of live trees to make phenomenal works of living art.
Axel’s circus trees have been featured in multiple publications, including Ripley’s believe it or not. Nature lovers and art enthusiasts alike will both be awed by these one of a kind live sculptures.
Enjoy A Picnic Lunch At Sarah’s Vineyard
Known for its world class chardonnay and pinot noir, Sarah’s vineyard is the perfect location to pack a picnic and enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting.
With picturesque views of the sprawling vineyards, and the San Jose mountains, you’ll be eager to return to this hospitable and beautiful California treasure.
Check Out Limelight Actors Theatre
This unique arts center located in the heart of Gilroy provides dinner on site or you can pack your favorite wine and cuisine from home and simply come enjoy the show.

Shop For Gifts At Garlic World
Gilroy is known as “the garlic capital of the world” – and for good reason.
Since the late 1800’s, garlic crops have flourished in our region. We are so well known for it, that every summer Gilroy throws an annual three day food festival in honor of our harvest.
But just because you missed the festival, doesn’t mean you can’t explore all of our regional garlic themed goodies.
Garlic World has been a Gilroy staple since 1986, giving locals and tourists the chance to load up on unique garlic gifts, specialty foods, and products available nowhere else.
And you never know – your garlic loot may even come in handy when those Hallows Eve vampires start roaming about.
Wander Through The Redwoods
Experience the beauty of the redwoods in Big Basin Redwood State park.
Nestled amongst these majestic trees are hiking trails, picnic areas, campgrounds, and a visitor’s center. Touring this picturesque California park is the perfect way to spend a sunny fall day.
